Welcome to SLAIA

•  Sri Lanka Architects in Australia (SLAIA) is an incorporated association of Sri Lankan architects residing in Australia.

A person with a degree in Architecture or Built Environment (whether they are in active practice or not) of Sri Lankan ethnicity, resident in Australia, and who supports the Purposes of the Association is eligible for SLAIA membership, subject to their application being approved by the committee.

The Purposes of SLAIA are:

1. Provide a forum for its membership to come together in solidarity, to strengthen and promote friendship and goodwill.
2. Raise funds for agreed charitable causes.   
3. Support and promote activities related to the architectural profession and facilitate events that will benefit members to enhance skills and  expand their professional and social network.
4. Refrain from using SLAIA as a forum to gain any financial advantage nor as a tool for individual business promotion nor as a platform to promote any political or racial affiliations.
5. Promote cross cultural architectural links between Sri Lanka and Australia.

SLAIA organises indoor and outdoor social activities annually that provide a forum for its membership to come together as per its objectives & Purposes. SLAIA conducts informative programs and lectures beneficial to members.  SLAIA Scholarship Program and the Scholarship Fund is a recent initiative that will enable members to donate money towards sponsoring financially disadvantaged students at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in collaboration with the University.  This is an annual activity and SLAIA will have Fundraising activities to support the program.
